Kyle, just do everything Alan Launder says.
Oh FYI, in the slo-mo, when you plant it sounds like an explosion, which is pretty badass.
Say hi to Brandi (Brandy) for me

KYLE ELLIS wrote:Yes my technical model is not bubka's but rather tim and joe's. mainly tim's because i think he was a better technician in certain area's. but i keep an open mind and borrow peice's of others vault that i think work well with this model. Tim changed my jump several years ago but i havent had the furtune to have him their coaching me all the time. but rather i have to watch film and try to interpret and apply it as best as i can. So basically what would happen is Tim would teach me something, i would go work on it non-stop on my own then a week or 2 later he would give me something else new to chew on... Its been a very rough process with having a new vault coach every year of my life. but i appreciate all the feedback and i do consider everyones opinion. But everyone models themselves after someone and thats what they stick too. when i was little my dad pointed me in tim and joe's direction and its way too late to deviate from it now, plus i believe 1000% in this model. But i am always looking for ways to improve myself within this model and think about outside opinions. I havent worked with tim in probably in a year and a half and when i did there was atleast 10 or more other vaulters with us. so i couldnt soley rely on tim, but i had to try to move forward on my own and i believe that the better you understand "your own" vault the better off you will be.
Kyle,
Continue jumping the way you are jumping and you can jump high. Get stronger and faster focus on a good (improving running technique) approach and you will jump high. Dial, Vigneron (first man over 19’0â€Â

Do you mean that using the model that he isnt using, he can get away with more things and still jump as high as the "petrov" model?
Just you wait...

In my opinion, jumping like Joe Dial and Tim MiMichael the jump is more difficult to swing and because take off and arm position at the plant sometimes you may have trouble getting vertical and/or timed up on the where as Bubka’s technique seems to allow for the vaulter to swing earlier and faster and get timed up on the pole easier. I think you can jump high with either style, but it is easier to jump using Bubka’s technique because you can swing easier and be efficient on smaller poles where as Dial and Tim were on very big poles and they had to very efficient getting timed up and vertical to achieve the great push off they got. If you compare Bubka in 1984 to 1992 he looked more powerful and efficient at his plant, takeoff and swing which allowed him to improve from 19’1â€Â

[quote="Mecham"] Stay tall, we want to look good on the runway.
I agree. I noticed while watching your movie, you were leaning forward a little during your run. Try to run as tall as possible. Tye Harvery's coach, Dan, pointed this out to me, so I have been working on this a lot, and it has helped me out quite a bit. Also, it looked like the consistency in your run changed a little on every vault, according to those cones you had out. So I would start by working on your approach a little.
