Virus Warning

Unread postby rainbowgirl28 » Fri Mar 05, 2004 1:38 am

The latest email virus going around is very deceiving. I had to call my webhost to double check and make sure it was fake!

It sent me emails spoofing addresses such as support@polevaultpower.com, and the emails were very official sounding. It came with an attachment, and said you needed a password to open it.

DO NOT OPEN EMAILS WITH ATTACHMENTS unless you are expecting one from a trusted friend.

The only email addresses at polevaultpower.com that are valid are admin, becca, and zack. I will never send a mass email with an attachment. I won't ever send you an attachment unless you are expecting it.

ROFL! I almost did it too...but I found it very very weird how they would include a password in the e-mail (and what reason where they hiding it??)

Thank you, for verifying my thoughts, I was thinking it was a virus and didn't open it because of that fear...
