Video taping during NCAA competition
I just read over the NCAA Rule Book. It states that a coach may not video tape in the competition area. I have seen many coaches/treammates video tape the pole vault competition right next to the runway/takeoff area and also outside of the infield from the stands. Is it permissable to video tape in an approved area and can the coach watch the video during the competition and then consult with the athlete to make adjustments? How does a coach determine an approved area that is not in the competition area?

Re: Video taping during NCAA competition
*You can video tape from an approved area (I've seen it done from the competition area, stands, etc...). The coach or person doing the videotaping cannot coach the athlete upon viewing the footage though. Best bet is to check with the head field official or official at the event to determine what is a legal or illegal area to be video taping.
