Let's put it this way - I gave you a toy at a Stanford meet that Jill jumped in.

And he is going to be a goodun because he has talent - - is great to work with - is a student of the event -and has a dad who after all of his achievements - was not too proud to listen to a furriner. Hope I get the chance to work with you again this year = and to drink that great Mexican beer. ;)

Kinda getting off topic here, but last I heard, Altius is scheduled for a series of clinics on the West Coast (WA, OR) in May-June.

Unfortunately I am persona non grata at the Summit -so I will have to console myself with skiing in Europe. Yes PP lining up for my last hurrah in the States - lets hope there is some interest!!

I'm going to do everything in my power to make it this year ... since I had to miss his clinic with Rick Baggett in Portland last year. :(

I think Alan Launder has something to offer ALL coaches and ALL vaulters ... at any level of their awareness of the Petrov Model ... and at any level of their career ... whether you've read ... or agree with ... BTB2 or not.

Anyone that CAN attend SHOULD attend!

I've seen "coachs" tapping , and most of the time it really scares me. "Parent coachs" who were once vaulters are the worst because they think their kid is "just like the old man" in toughness and courage. And yes, i've seen poles overloaded and broken while "tapping". there might be an extreme justification for this IF the conditions require it, but otherwise I file it into the general category of "Can't fix stupid" or "a stupid accident looking for the best time to happen".

We have a local parent right now teaching his kid "on the sly" to only use the poles at or under his weight, using ALL of the runway if possible, and to ignore his actual coach. and yes, he's tapping to get his kid up in the air. dangerous stuff that will probably end in a painful injury on of these days.
