OK I have turned off the feature that allowed you all to link to pictures on another site as your avatars. Sorry for the inconvience!
If this affects you, you just need to download the picture you would like to use, make sure it is the right size and type (100 x 100 pixels or less, JPG etc) and then upload it as your new avatar.
This is in an effort to keep the site running quickly for those users with slow internet connections.
