Fastest Vaulters?

I ran my 40's this year faster with a pole then without. So it can happen. I think i relax more and run better with a pole.

u could have somethin here. im gonna test my flying 15m with and without a pole and i'll report back to u. i may even try to measure it in a real jump

i wasnt askin who had the world record in the pole vault run or anything like that. but i think there run is going to be pretty consistant when they peak in season and age. i just wanted to know who was faster than bubka, and if so how high they jumped in correlation to speed. looks mainly like little guys. i guess a better question would have been whos the fastest vaulter in the world right now, lawrence johnson....???

Let me know how it goes you'll be surprised. Or use mini hurdles in there to keep you steppin high and fast it works too.

I doubt he is right now. He's barely jumped this year as best I can tell. Maybe that music career is keeping him too busy

If I tried to time myself using mini hurdles and a pole, I would probably end up eating track

We do it alot it helps make a more consistent approach. Increases speed and form and kinda fun too.

i have a video of bubka makin his first 20' outdoor jump and the guys are talkin before he makes it and they say that he has been timed at 10.2 in the 100 Meter dash. I know this is without a pole but maybe you guys know some other vaulters 100 times.

The broadcasters were wrong. He never ran 10.2.

Very true, i would say the bubka myth is urban legend number 1. Bubka never ran a 10.2. I heard it from the soviet national assistant coach herself, Galina Bukharina. She said Bubka ran 10.5 or so with a hurricane at his back.

Ok - what was Dan O'b 100m - 10.23! - but for his speed and talent - he was a medicore vaulter - Tim Bright ran 11.18 in Oly Decael and jumped 18'8" - Kyle's (originator of post!) dad can still bring it at 45 still in the 15' neighborhood - but carries speed real well at plant - hand times - running starts - it is still speed at plant - and technique - if you bring it and then abosrb much of the energy with your arms and body (terrible plant) you still get a medicore vault

Also - has multiple listings for each - and speed at 15-10m - Bubka was faster consistently - Yegorov actually slowed on many in 88-

based on stuff in that book - not surprising - Bubka could bring it
