Pole vault pit covers

Unread postby ramenvaulter » Mon Dec 15, 2008 11:15 am

Our pit cover has so many rips and tears and it just started raining so we need a new one.
any idea where I can get just a cover and how much it would cost?

Contact the original pit manufacturer. They all sell replacement covers for their specific pit. A more economical but less effective solution is to just use a large tarp and tie it down at the edges.

Just call the company and see. They're not cheap, probably over $1000.

thank you I'll be sure to call.
also since they are soaking wet right now my coach said to put them back in a shed we have.
would it be better to let them air out and do it, or just stick them in asap?

If they are soaking wet turn them upside down and put them on hurdles so the water drains out.

There are many different types of tarp. You just need to get one of the ones that is waterproof. Also, make sure the middle of the tarp is higher than the periphery so that the water does not pool. Water is a lot like ants. If there is any tiny hole at all the water will find it.
