Flex
I'm going to be purchasing a new carbon weave 15' 175 and i was wondering what flex would be best for me. i currently vault on a 14' 6" 175 carbon with flex 14.6 and its a little too stiff. i dont really understand all the flex stuff, to my knowledge the carbon weave ratings vary between 17 and 17.9. if any one has any helpfull information for me that would be great.

Call Bryan at Gill Athletics and ask him.
But if your 14'6 175 is too stiff, why are you buying a bigger pole? It will just be stiffer...

Study this chart... http://www.skyjumpers.com/articles/pvpr ... table.html
Poles of different lengths are flexed on different spans, so you can't compare the flex numbers.
It will take more energy to rotate a 15' 175 pole to vertical than a 14'6 175. So the 15' pole will feel stiffer. The flex numbers don't matter in this case, they mainly matter when comparing two poles that are the same brand and same length.

Re: Flex
Thanks a bunch. Do you have any idea if the newer carbons would be more or less stiff than the older one i'm currently using?

Same stiffness, they will just have a lighter carry weight.
