Trying to find Unique Pole vault spikes.

Unread postby perezn03 » Sat Aug 15, 2009 11:16 pm

I currently own the Mizuno long jump.

They're comfortable, fit well, and provide great running support for vaulting.
I'm looking for a new pair of spikes as these have become pretty worn but i'm trying to find unique spikes that not all vaulters have.
Any help is appreciated.

There aren't that many pole vault/jump specific spikes, so you tend to see everyone in the same stuff.

This is a new brand that probably not many people have: http://www.teneoathletics.com/kangaroo.htm

I don't see a ton of kids in New Balance, they might be a bit more unique?

Hey, so i ordered the spikes from teneoathletics. And I thought i should let you know that these spikes are amazing. I was apprehensive at first because of the zipper. but they fit great, have a great spike plate and pattern and you feel secure running with them on. Thanks a lot!

if you have the same mizuno long jumps im thinking do this. take a look at the spike plate on the mizunos, and then on the teneos, what do you notice?

the teneos are a great shoe at a great price. he has really done a nice jump making shoes everyone can afford. unfortunately they dont come big enough if your over size 12.

Its the same spike pattern which i like. But unfortunately that spike plate provides little traction without spikes in.

Do you vault indoors where you can't use spikes? I recommend using the type of cross country spikes that have rubber nubbies instead of metal spikes. These are lightweight and have good traction, but they won't scratch up a gym floor.

Yeah, We compete at west point indoor track facility and they do not allow spikes. So i am looking for a good pair of flats.
