Advice

I basically need to decide if I should get a pair of vault specific spikes or not. Right now, and since last year, I have been using a pair of Nike XC spikes because I also run distance. I will be attending skyjumpers this summer and would like opinions on if I should get a specific spike and what kind. Currently my best vault is 8'6 but I haven't been able to practice much. I will be the only vaulter left on my team next year and my coach wants me to get good because we've always been good at pole vault.

I would just run with what you have. If you start jumping higher it might be worth it.

I agree. Stick with what you have for now. When they start to fall apart, maybe you should think about jump spikes, but distance spikes work fine.
