1987 skypole

Unread postby JTred » Thu Mar 09, 2006 11:18 pm

One of our new guys is on a pre 1987 10'? 115# skypole. (I know this because my coach says it was there since before he started coaching 19 years ago) It appears to have no soft side. I would assume that, if it has one, it would be opposite the skypole logo, like the later skypoles I use. Does anyone know if these poles have a pre-bend? By the way if it helps it's blue and has a pink sailpiece.

Don't know about the soft side and all, but that would definitely be rated a lot stiffer than a 115 now, with Bestflex and all.

Set the pole down across the top of a couple of hurdles (hurdles near each end of the pole). Let go of it and let it settle. The side facing down is the soft side.

My coach decided to retire that pole. He's on a shiny new 11'6 120 spirit. He's actually doing quite well for his 2nd day of vaulting.

NO, That's the shortest.......1 foot 6 inches.HMMMMMMMMMMMM? I wonder how much bend he can get out of that 1 and a half footer. I wonder where it's bend tendences are, at the bottom, at the top or right in the middle? Bruce? you'd better step in on this one. Later.......Mike
(OK, I know he probably meant an 11'6" pole but the picture in my mind of that 1 and a half footer was too good not to take a shot at)

For what it is worth, for a few hours after you submit a post, you can still reopen it and edit the contents. Look for the "Edit" button in the upper right hand corner of the post. Of course, that edit link is only available to the person who made the post. You can also use the "Preview" button right next to the "Submit" button to see how your post will actually look. After you are happy with it, you can click on "Submit".
