The maker of that crossbar would probably be Port-A-Pit!

Best cross bars

By far the cross bars that our team has bought the most beers for are those that wiggle but stay up in those big meets when ya open high and wiggle that puupy on the third vault11

Yep wiggling 3rd vault makes..those are the best ( a bit breath taking as well and make coaches and parents close their eyes)

Hey I'd love to get one of those ole triangle aluminum bars!!!

I tell by kids about times crushing those things right out the box with your back and the benting the thing back straight by prying against the standards. or what ever, It became a necessary skill for a vaulter to straight those things. As long as the crossbar was near parallel to the ground from the back of the runway they were considered straight. They usually would vary 3-6 inches front to rear though in the other plane, making your standard settings relative plus or minus 3-6 inches depending on where you actually cross over.

The kids just laugh and mumble things like yeh, no u-pit either? and was that a steel pole" and were you in the sawdust club too coach?

Anyhow.

Hey I'll trade ya good fiberglass HJ bar for one of those triangle metal ones that is long enough for PV?

The old dark blue Skypole ones were the best.

My current favorite is the UCS crossbar they used on my pit at the 2000 Summit. I executed a 13'9" jump with the bar at 14' and it stayed up! I fully expected to find weights in, or contact cement on, the end pieces.
