lol really thats bad??.. i do that all the time with my poles lol.. is there any other way of transporting them with like a small car?

I've seen tons of people do it with no problems. I think that it would be safest to have them in a case or something... I mean if you just had the poles by themselves, a car could kick up a rock or something and ding them.

I have always had small cars. I take ratchet tie downs and take the straps through the car and tie them through the roof.

Driven cross country twice with poles like that

JJ might be referring to the time Casey Carrigan and Bobby Richards lost their poles on the way the the AAU Nationals one year. I think they were using the towel method.

Every year I've gone to Reno, I've seen several bare-nekkid poles being unloaded from planes in the oversized baggage claim. I can't imagine the abuse those are going through!

Here is a good one MORE ways to break poles

Unread postby Bruce Caldwell » Wed Sep 01, 2004 9:36 am

Here is a good one

I use to live in kansas City MO

It was 1976 and I had attended the TEXAS RELAYS on my way back to KCMO by car I wa going north on 35 HIWAY as I got to the split where 35 is E to DALLAS and 35 IS W to FORT WORTH there was a pile up and slow moving traffic. As I got up on the problem I saw car gunning to drive over or around long Blue poles in the road two of them.
I pulled to the side got out an dfetched the two poles!

Well I knew by the size who owned these poles both Sky Pole Bananas
SO I drove to Fort Worth to TERRY PORTER'S home and gave him his two poles back.

When I arrived his tubes were still on the car but two were empty.
The poles had come out the back side without his knowledge!

I even think as tough as he was he jumped very high on those poles and went on to be a USA OLYMPIAN that year.

When he and I see each other we always laugh about that day!!!!

Taking your teammates 100lb pole and sticking between door handles to lock him in the locker room. (Coach wasn't too happy)

I learned the hard way, i lost about 12 inches of poles because they werent in rigid containers. Always ship poles in cardboard or hard containers.

Escalators

Unread postby Bruce Caldwell » Sun Sep 12, 2004 10:18 am

Taking the escalator at the L.A. Airport with the poles on your shoulders. Getting the top of the pole stuck in the wall going up while the butt is jammed up against the pedal of the escalator.

They will be goners!!!

Ask Anthony Curren about this one LOL
