Unread postby RoySloppy » Tue Mar 09, 2004 7:09 pm

my school has two spirit 14 footers one is a 165 and one is a 170. the 165 has a 17.1 flex and the 170 has a 16.4 flex. is this a big jump in stiffness casue im not really familair with flexes and such.

ONLY AS A RULE OF THUMB 00.254 flex is about one lb in relative stiffness.
example of above and this is a estimate as each brand varies;
17.1-16.4=.7/.254=2.7 lbs estimate

The answer was 2.7 lbs difference and how it was figured for everyone as reference?

In most cases 2.7 lbs is not a problem and can be lightened by 1 to 2 inch increase in grip!
