Recommended pole for a beginner

My 7th Grade son is beginning to pole vault. He's small, about 5 foot and 75 lbs. What would be a good size pole for him to vault on?

Buying poles when kids are this age is a problem if the intent is to have him/her bending the pole. The most you are likely to get out of it is a season or less. My suggestion would be to borrow poles if possible... and its fine for him to be stiff poling at this age... so something like a 10-11 foot 100 would be fine. If you must buy, try to score a used pole, or at most buy the less expensive ones.

A kid this age can grow enormously fast... my own son has grown 4 inches and put on 20 lbs in the last year... a pole which is "just right today" will be useless next February. Just something to consider.
