Hi everybody;
During the last meet of our 2012 season(for me) I landed on the back of the pit from about 14 feet with the cross bar under the back of my head and I suffered a concusson. I've been out for about a month now and I still have several weeks before I can even think about practicing. Before the accident I really never even considered wearing a helmet while vaulting but I've been thinking it over and I think its problably a good idea to start. I was just wondering if anybody had any suggestions for a good, pole vault specific, helmet that is reliable but still pretty small and lightweight so it wont get in the way?
any help at all will be much appreciated, thanks!

I think this is the only helmet on the market that has been tested to confirm that it meets the ASTM standard for PV helmets (though I am sure other helmets would if they were tested). http://www.gillathletics.com/store/prod ... -pv-helmet

This helmet if still available might meet your needs. It is listed as certified.
