every time you land on our matts, you have to shut your eyes or else little things get all in them. the bottom of it retains water so it smells like mildew, the cover is rusted through and when it freezes well, you can't get it off. oh wait, we only have to worry about the pitts, no more mats, they finally realized when the wind carries them on top of people they are a death trap.
Who else gets to say they fly?

Hmm, let me see........
Back in Laredo, TX (high school) you had the occasional chicken make his way up underneath the mat. You could only imagine how we'd find that out. And if there wasn't a chicken, you could always count on the goat distracting practice.......
SWT, you had the ants and earthworms. Those were always fun top mess with.
The ol Pole Vault Ranch in San Marcos seemed to be inhabited by a Possum. Hey kris! Since there's going to be a bonfire and all......catching my drift? I'll bring the spices, no wait, don't possums carry leprosy? Hmm, I think it's armadillos........
Texas Tech, Come to think of it.......they're pretty darn good! No complaints yet.
Ahh yes, those were the days !

Actually Bobby, with everything that lives in and around the PV Ranch pit, we could have a genuIne gourmet meal, including:
the possum that lives under the runway
the fire ants that live under the runway
the grass snake that lives under the runway
the stray cats that live under the pit
the armadillos that visit around the pit
the deer that visit around the pit
the various scorpions, spiders, 12" walking sticks, assasin bugs and other unidentifiable insects living in and around the pit
It's a regular jungle at the Allison PV Ranch!

Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. - Muhammad Ali
