Quick question regarding poles. I currently have two 16' Spirit poles (16.6, 15.8) and two 16'5'' Spirit poles (16.7, 16.0). As you can see these two sets of poles are pretty much the same. Now, I'm consistently jumping on the two biggest (16'-15.8 and 16'5''-16.0) which feel pretty much the same. I'm planning on buying a few new poles.
I hold around 15'6'' and unfortunately only jump 17' doing so (yeah I'm not the most efficient vaulter).
What poles should I buy?

my 2 cents worth
2' 3" push off is good in my book. moving to stiffer pole if you can handle them will yield you more.
16' pole accommodate a 15'6" grip in sail placement 16'5" pole will work as well as you move up the grip up one fist. The reason it does not feel efficient yet is you are not ready for a higher grip yet.
SO what pole to buy well stop duplicating and think big. If you wish to a jump 18+ learn to use stiffer poles and move the grip up.
You might find you can handle a 16'3" length pole better ESSX makes them SMILE

Yeah, Budgie, from Austrilia jumped 5.95m holding at 4.90m. He ended up jumping 6.00m holding 4.91m.

Thanks for the feedback,
I've ordered two poles: 16' 15.3 and 16' 14.8.
I know I've gotta work on that push. At FISU in Izmir, Bjorn Otto told me I need to vault more like this (as he mimed a pole vaulter going straight up with his hands), instead of like this (as he mimed a pole vaulter flagging off with his hands). I'll always take advice from a 5.80m jumper!
Also, I'm planning to head to Reno this year and would like some opinions on which event I should try to get registered in. I'm a college vaulter with a 5.20m PB.
Thanks

Hay I had a quick question for you guys. Last year I used a 190 12ft 190lb Skypole. But I have gained waight for football so now I'm in the 210-220 range. I have been looking on the internet but I can't seem to find a 210-220lb pole that is in the 13ft range. Do you guys now of a site or any company that carries any pols close to what I'm looking for? Thank you for any info.

I don't think any manufacturer carries poles in that size in stock, but if you call them up they might be able to make you one.
