Crossbar Rules Change??
Does the following mean that new crossbars are needed? It sounds like they can't have the flat rubber ends that make the ends square.
RULE 2/EQUIPMENT 41
Crossbar Shape, Composition
ARTICLE 4. The crossbar shall be circular and made of suitable material.
The ends of the crossbar shall be smooth and shall not be covered with rubberor any other material that has the effect of increasing the friction between the surface of the crossbar and the supports.
Crossbar Dimensions
ARTICLE 5. The diameter of the crossbar shall be 30 (±1) millimeters.
The crossbar shall be 4.50 (±0.02) meters in length, shall have a maximum weight of 2.25 kilograms, shall have no bias, and when in place, shall sag a maximum of 3 centimeters. The ends of the crossbar shall be constructed in such a way that a flat surface of 30 to 35 millimeters by 15 to 20 centimeters is designed for the purpose of placing the bar on the pegs of the uprights.

We might be jumping the gun a little bit, but i have seen (many many times) a few different videos of Bubka jumping OVER 20' (not to mention his 6m+ jumps either) without touching or knicking (nicking?) the bar at all. I dont think we should complain about crossbars until someone else clears 20'
Just you wait...

the only way to technically follow this rule is to use a material that has a coefficient of friction equal to or less than that of the the cross bar material with the material of the pegs.
here is a link to a site with a list of coefficients for clean surfaces, but who really has a clean set of standards (lacking oxidation)?
