Many of you will know that I wrote the first Beginner to Bubka after attending the Reno Summit the year after three young American vaulters were killed - and seeing the major technical problems demonstrated there - even by the elite college vaulters. I preceded the book by an article in the "Pole vault standard" which outlined my concerns and have then followed up with another - hopefully much better - version of the book and an improved DVD.
Now that there is a brief hiatus in the vault world I am wondering if there any coaches out there with the time and interest to consider the impact of these resources on their thinking and coaching. If there any who believe that the impact has been positive I would really appreciate it if you could send me a formal statement to that effect. I am considering submitting the book - along with my first book on the teaching of games - for academic credit and need all the support I can get because the whole process is a bit unusual and is based around the notion that credit can be gained for work which - although not a piece of research or even academic in the usual sense of that word - has made a contribution to practice in the field.
Hope this is not asking too much.

Thanks Tom McNab, celebrated author, formerly British National coach and one of the few individuals to have been appointed as a team coach at both the summer and winter Olympic games!
