i dunno how much it helps, but i got a ton of stuff like rings, and bars hangin from a bar in my backyard, and i try to do as much gymnastic tyoe stuff on those as i can. seem to be gettin better overall strength and body-control, so i guess it does some good.
What have you done today to get better?

all i know is once the track coach found out i was a gymnast, he bugged me all year to pole vault ^_^ vaulted 8-6 my first season (straight-poling...)....and its not just strength i got out of gymnastics either...there's unbelievable amounts of self-discipline required...and i know there's others out there that will say other sports can give you great self-discipline, but i don't think ANYTHING can compare to gymnastics...i can't think of another sport where you would have to force yourself to do something that absolutely terrified you, knowing that making a certain simple error (one that you had made before already) would have the potential to kill you...>.<
and on the flexibilty issue...flexibility always helps ^_^

Do foward and backward rolls, and try to do handstand foward rolls, and backrolls to handstand. Try holding handstands for as long as you can...to balance takes some strength and coordination. Try doing handstand pushups, and handstand pirouetts. If you have a high bar somewhere do swings and pullovers. Do whatever you can to be inverted.
