Yeah the Belmont one got cancelled (August 9th) - that one was cool - it was held late afternoon-early evening and as it got dark they brough otu floodlights and put glow sticks on teh crossbar. Then there was a fireworks show afterwards. *sigh*
Ah well the one in Gilford, NH is still on (August 23rd) - that one is pretty good too - it's like a carnival without the rides. It's their Old Home Day festival and quite a few folks show up to watch. Plus you can pet goats and chickens
The York Beach event (September 6th) up in Maine is the best way to end the season. The Maine ocean water has FINALLY risen above 60 degrees by then, it's not too hot outside and the beach is just gorgeous. That is a must do event for any New Englander

I just saw Matt Gault during the Central Mass PV Academy a week and a half ago. The event last year was very successful and there was a verbal agreement between the organizers and Matt to hold the event again. However there were miscommunications and paperwork snafus which unfortunately led to the event getting cancelled. Ah well. We'll still have Gilford and York Beach...
Matt is on the road a lot and rarely has access to his computer so trying to get a hold of him can be an exasparating experience...

That's right I keep forgetting you're a transplanted Oklahoman :-)
The CMPVA is the pv camp that Coach John Hoogasian - the pv coach at the College of the Holy Cross - puts together every summer. We had about 80 kids this year brave the thunderstorms and heat/humidity that made it feel as if you were vaulting in hot soup.
Matt Gault was one of the many counselors this year. We should get you to help out next year. Coach Hoogie usually invites the top New England college talent to help out...
The only downside to the camp is it always seems to take place on the three hottest humidest days of the summer and the HC facility is on top of the biggest hill in Worcester and it's all artificial turf. It makes you realize what a lobster feels like when he hits that pot...
