You need to run, you are slowing down into the pit and not accelerating. Was this jump closer to the end of practice? It looks like your standards are way in close and you are still coming up short. I'd say look for maybe a lil softer pole or move back to 7 lefts instead of 6.
What is nice about this sport is that I am responsible for most everything.

i agree with the last post of a little softer pole if possible. Also, you need to be more active with your arms after take-off. Keep pressure on the pole as you are rowing and it should help you get a little more penetration.
It appears that your top hand is doing very little after you take-off.....start getting your hands moving and it will make a difference.
This is all easier said than done though.

It does look like you're blocking a bit.
Definately either move your steps back or get a softer pole and go from there.
I used to block like that pretty badly and it was a hard habit to kick. I personally did it by using softer poles and just concentrating on that bottom arm... big plant and then letting it come in. You might be so rigid with that bottom arm because of the size of that pole and having trouble getting in the pit with it.

As you know I've focused in on your run. Take a look at your last two steps before takeoff. Can you see how you're kind of stretching them a little trying to get to your take off point? Those last two should be shorter and quicker and of course "strong". Improving that will help you jump up at take off rather than running off at take off. Not only that but look at the path your right hand takes at the plant movement. See how it going up behind your ear? Remember what I said about the plant movement in our last correspondence? That right hand should go from at or a little in front of your hip, straight up and in front of your face. Knock the bill of that baseball cap off with your right hand or thumb. This is especially hard to correct with how much under you are. The jump part of your vault looks like you are behind it (in other words you don't look like you're getting to the points you should be at after you take off quick enough). By shortening those last two steps and a jump up at take off, that will in turn cause your whip to occur faster (and be more effective) which in turn will get the rest of your vault's "events" happening at a more appropriate time, thus improving your jump. By the way, I'm guessing you're doing your hill pole runs because your knees look waaaaaaaay better on your run up. Later.........Mike
