What pole next?

Unread postby Noah C » Sun Jun 15, 2008 3:24 pm

Ok I'm crushing a 14' 170lb 16.2 flex. Standards buried and still hitting it on the way through landing deep in the pit. What pole would you recommend next?

hard to say without video. as a HS athlete, a couple points will more than likely not make a big difference. if it is a matter of buying a pole, and you can only buy one, i would say look for about a 15.5... reasonable jump, but not unattainable for a hs athlete.

If you are crushing it then you definately want atleast a 14'0 15.2... In my experience its easy to make a transition to a 1.0cm bigger pole in the line of 14ft poles. 14ft poles i would say you want 0.8-1.2 bigger /15ft 0.5-1.0/ 15'6 0.4-0.8/ 16ftplus 0.4-0.8/ 5.20poles 0.2-0.6.... Of course these are all relative to the athlete. Just trying to help though.
On a whole new level 6-20-09

Thinking about it a little more, I agree on the pole length affecting the jump in flex... once one is on a specific length, it can be easy to forget thinking about what other lengths feel like..
