Colchester, CT... Soon To Be The Pole Vault Capital Of CT

Unread postby kevinmcgill59 » Mon Oct 13, 2008 11:23 am

Colchester is in the process of a revolution, one that will bring track addicts from all over the state.

#1 Bacon Academy's track has been inspected and deemed "not safe enoungh for competition" this has forced our town to take action. There will be a referendom sometime this winter to pass the bill for a NEW OUTDOOR TRACK!!! Wich will include new mats!!!

#2 I am in the process of planning the installation of a plant box in our gym floor!!! Mr. Petereson, now the coolest teacher at Bacon Academy, will look at the plans and test the gym floor to see if this is structually possible. If it is, he will do all of the cutting, drilling, and chiseling himself. This is AWSOME because we wont have to wait for the school to go through the contracting process.

# 3 BALDI STONE AND GRAVEL is a company that works out of Colchester. The owner's son is in my class and runs track at Bacon. Baldi is getting the zoneing licenses from the town to build a MASSIVE INDOOR SPORTS COMPLEX in Colchester. The complex will have somethiong like 4 soccer fields with a wing comeing off of it with a 200 METER TRACK! BLUE SURFACE WITH GOLD LINES!!! The indoor track will include TWO POLE VAULT PITS!!! Completion of the construction of the complex is planed to be Augest of 2009.

Track addicts get ready, because C-Town is a ticking track time bomb!!!

Bad economic times often affect us in ways that we could never have imagined. Maybe the funding will get back on track.

Kevin, you and the other Bacon vaulters are always welcome to drive 15 minutes and jump with me, you know. Teresa's been coming this fall. I only have one indoor pit, but that's one more than most of CT!
