Jenn's third attempt at the World Record was really close!
Is this the first meet where both the men's and women's world records were attempted?

Men's Competition in HD

I'm kinda new with the Windows Movie Maker thing, which is why there are no transitions or any of that fancy stuff.
These clips aren't just just of jumps, but include when athletes came over to talk to their coaches, athlete introductions and so on.
I'm bringing a tripod next time.

Hey I don't know if you are exporting them from Movie Maker in a low quality or if it's just YouTube reducing the quality, but they look terrible... if you can export them in a higher quality, try that, and then try uploading them to Treemo.com, they tend to look a little bit better there.

I'll give that a shot. I'm just wondering though, did you click Watch in HD at the bottom right of the video?
I'm exporting them in 720P HD, the native resolution/quality of my camera. The optical zoom had some trouble focusing at certain points due to inconsiderate individuals walking in front of the camera.

I clicked the watch in HD at the bottom, and that made the video 100% better! Very nice, and yeah i can understand your frustration with people walking in front of you! Nice job on filming it though, I know many of us really appreciate it!!

Nope I didn't know that was an option... you might want to put that (telling people to click watch in HD) in the description of the video, because it's kind of a new feature on YouTube and not everyone (me) is familiar with it.

When I play the HD videos, the images are reasonably clear, but the "motion" is very jerky. It stutters and skips. What might I be doing wrong or what might I need to see the videos play smoothly? Thanks.

Pause the video before letting it play. Let it load completely, then you should be good to go.

OLYMPIC gold medallist Steve Hooker has closed the gap on the world record again, becoming the second-highest pole vaulter in history yesterday in Boston.
Hooker cleared 6.06 metres and then had three attempts at 6.16 in a bid to break Sergey Bubka's world-record mark of 6.15, set indoors. Bubka also had a 6.14 outdoors.
"I'm really happy that there is no one between Bubka and I now," Hooker said. "It was good and I'm really excited by clearing 6.06 metres. It was a massive benchmark for me. I'm looking forward to fitting a few more competitions in the next couple of weeks and I think I can go higher."
The vault also gave him the Australian, Oceania and Commonwealth pole vault record and added five centimetres to the personal best of 6.01 he set in New York just over a week ago.
Despite his career-best form, the Olympic champion, who also had three attempts at eclipsing the world-record mark in New York, would not go so far as to say he could conquer Bubka's feat this year. Bubka set the 6.15 at Donetsk, Ukraine, in 1993 and cleared 6.03 or higher 10 other times indoors.
"It's hard to say (if I can do it this year)," Hooker said. "The most important thing is to stay injury-free and keep jumping high; if I do that I'll continue to give myself every chance of jumping six metres-plus."
His record-breaking Boston jump also eclipsed the mark of 6.05 metres set by his idol, Dmitri Markov, who won the world championship in 2001. "He is one of the greatest vaulters of all time and to have beaten his record is an amazing feeling," Hooker said.
In his first two competitions since the Olympics Hooker has cleared six metres twice.
In Boston, Hooker used a specially constructed heavier pole for the first time. The 26-year-old is adjusting it and had an awkward first attempt at 6.16.
"It felt a bit funny in my hands. It just felt bigger and stiffer, so on my first attempt I just ran through," he said.
"The second jump was better; at least I got off the ground. My second and third jumps were good jumps, I just had the uprights too close. The third attempt was the best and I dragged the bar off with my arm on the way over."
The Americans were left in his wake. Derek Miles cleared 5.72 and Darren Niedermeyer 5.52 to fill the placings. Fellow Australian Paul Burgess finished fifth with a disappointing 5.37.
Hooker will now head to France for the Paris Indoors.
Olympic silver medallist Sally McLellan set an Australian indoor record of 7.3 seconds over 60 metres for sixth place.
