Best camp Ive heard of is Pat Manson's Elite Immersion Pole vault camps. http://www.patmanson.com/. He keeps the number of vaulters low so he can work with each person individually and you can actually improve unlike other camps where there are 30+ vaulters running around and no one really learns anything. I worked with him one summer and had a great experience and learned a lot.

Look for any camps/clinics that altius is at. I'm hosting one here in Maryland! If you PM'd him your location, I'm sure he'll tell you the closest area that he'll be visiting this Summer.

I don't understand all this PM stuff. What's the big secret?

Same goes for coaching tips. Some kids ask me by PM for tips, and I do give them to them ... once in awhile. But when doing so, I encourage them to post their questions publicly, and I'll answer them publicly. That way, if anyone else can also help them (or has time to help them ... sometimes I'm busy), they can still get timely advice. I appreciate that it's "to each his own", but to me, it's more time effective to advise vaulters publicly ... a lot of the questions are very similar ... and they get a better cross-section of advice that way.

To me, PMs are for PERSONAL communications that you don't want to make public.

It would get his attention right away instead of needing to let him find it on his own by accident... That's all.

If you are close to the NW then the May 29th to 31 clinic at Gladstone High school with Alan Launder and Rick Baggett is the place to be.

Paul Babits... www.polevaultcamps.com located in Ft. Wayne Indiana

For the price and quality it is one of the best in the country, even after you leave they do great keeping up with you and coaching.

Vault High Athletics runs camps and personal sessions. They have their own facility, plenty of poles and jumpers.

I usually go to Vaulthouse but I'm not sure where you live.
I am considering one in SC [Lojo Vertical Assault, I think] but it might be too expensive...I looked at the price of flying out to Jonesboro and doing the one at Bell Athletics, and the cost of the ticket AND the camp costs about as much as the camp in SC minus the cost of getting there.

Hehe...I might've be able to convince my parents on that camp, except I'd have to fly alone...and they probably wouldn't be too happy about that :P Or using the shuttle-service alone. [No, I haven't asked about this, but I think that's crossing the line. ] Well, and the issue of when the camp ends/starts and when you fly out/in and getting to the camp from wherever the shuttle stops...and, for that matter, where to stay until the flight out after the camp ends...and from the flight in until the camp starts...it would probably have to be a day in advance/after the camp for in/out, but where to stay would be an issue. :S

I wish I could get it to work though :(

Before we offer advice it would be useful for us to know where you live!
