10:32 Moderator - :) I forgot to bring my portable weather station to the tribune this morning.
10:33 Hysong - I doubt he will pass, he shouldn't need to.

IAAF:

10:35 Bio123
- Althought I am not sure which direction the runway is in, or even which direction Olympiastadion is in
10:35 Moderator - Olympiastadion's 100m homestraight runs east to west. The vault is at the west end of the stadium, with the pits at the southwest corner, so the runway is north to south.
10:35 Moderator - Of course, the stadium bowl means wind conditions will be different inside than prevailing weather.
10:36 Hysong - Maybe it is because the Men's Pole Vault? but of course I am biased :D
10:36 JPV
JPV - A 5m65 without any failed attemps might be enough for qualification

10:36 HJPK123
- It is the hottest day of the year already around 27C 300km west of Berlin.
10:36 Moderator - True, the forecast is for Berlin to reach 31C today.

IAAF:

10:37 braxs - do you have an update now on the withdrawal of Walker in the pole vault?

10:37 Moderator - He's had injury problems all spring and decided not to start. Any more will be at usatf.org when it's released.
10:37 Hysong - The facilities for the vault are OUTSTANDING!
10:38 peterengland - In a field of this size it is going to be difficult to guess which lower height will be enough. In the past with smaller fields it has been easier to reach qualification with a lower height.

Make for Mazuryk. Miss for Korchmid. Miss for Fritz.

The makes and misses seem to be somewhat clustered, perhaps the wind is swirling a bit.

Misses for Otto and Pavlov. Make for Gibilisco.

Pit B now on second attempts at 5.40.

Deca 110 hurdles over, I expect to see more pole vault shown on universalsports.com... or crowd shots...

Internet being slow... On Pit A, Yoo Kim made on his first attempt. Kudlicka missed his first. Cutts, Olhovsky, and Bukhalov make on their second attempts.

On pit B, Rovan, Stevenson, Jeng, and Otto make on their second attempt. da Silva NH. Fedas XXX and is mad.

They showed Lavillenie's jump, he was kind of awkward looking but TONS of height on the bar.

Stevenson had the height but kind of got twisted on top and brushed it off.

Gibilisco made easily.

Stevenson made 5.40 on second, does some fist pumping to the crowd.

Otto gets a big clap from the crowd and makes the bar easily, the crowd roars.

da Silva runs through and intentionally fouls his third attempt, he NHs.

Fedas misses his third and is pissed.

Korchmid also intentionally fouls. He and da Silva both gave up about halfway through the run, but did not try to stop.

Showed Kudlicka's clear, it was decent but nothing amazing.

Gibilisco flashes the camera a thumbs up.

Hooker jogging around.

IAAF: 10:45 vi vaulter - Does trhe vault have a tailwind or cross wind?
10:45 Moderator - Light crosswind or no wind for the vaulters, depending on timing.
