I am planning on training the long jump over the summer, and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I am moderately fast (~9.3 m/s I think) and not entirely incapable of jumping (high jumped 1.77m or ~5'10" the first time I tried High jump) however my long jump pr is a staggering 5.69m, or just short of the pole vault A standard in the US. Sad I know, considering I've been jumping over 4.90m from a 6 left approach. I feel that being more capable as a long jumper will lead to a better takeoff in general, as well as increased confidence in a free takeoff. How should I train the long jump to maximize its results in the pole vault. Thanks.
P.S. No making fun of me
