Silva passes this height. Did she get hurt? The last height was a PR, and she is down on misses and stands to gain by clearing this, I can't fathom why she would pass.

Silva passes 4.75 and takes a gamble to get a medal

Isinbayeva up. She's really had to swallow her pride and jump at these lower heights, but I think that's definitely a good move for her.
She misses!
And Suhr misses her second attempt at 4.75! I expected she would pass.
Video now of Silva, but it was very choppy for me. She definitely didn't look hurt though, I still can't fathom why she passed 4.75.

Looks to me like Silva may have another 15cm in the tank.

Strutz clears on her second attempt.
And a first attempt clearance by Silva would have put her in third, though I'm sure they were expecting Isi to clear.

Suhr out!! No medal for Team USA
Isi passes her remaining two attempts to 4.80.
When was the last time the Americans got no medals at the World Championships in the PV?

Nice clearance for Silva!
Cubans seem to have found themselves a nice little system here. I may be reading into it a bit but Borges and Silva look like they're a bit shorter than average - find a long jumper who can pick up gymnastics. Both Borges and Silva look like they have some natural gymnastic ability. Makes sense!

Dang, too bad for Suhr.
She didn't look like she was in her best form all night.
