Is there a formula or equation that relates to how high you can grip straight poling to how high you can hold with a normal bent pole? Example: If you can hold 12' straight poling, what could be a max grip height with a bent pole? Could it be factored by multiplying by a given number like 1.2 or 1.35...?

Petrov/Bubka formula says your 6 steps (3 lefts) straight pole grip should be takeoff mark on competition pole from full run. So if your can grip 12' on straight pole, your takeoff for that day is 12'.
Of course, the premise is that you are doing (or at least striving) free takeoff, not under.

The ratio comes out roughly between 1.15 for lower straight pole handgrips (10'6") TO 1.23 for higher handgrips (12'4-or higher)

It is for popup:
"We have one more test for checking the grip on the competition pole.
The vaulter stands on the vertical, holds the pole in the competitive grip
where the pole is touching the back wall of the box. Marking on the track
the point of take off, he puts the pole on the track and places his right
hand on the pole at the point of take off; if he runs from six steps (the run
up should start from a standing position) and makes the vertical position in
the direction of the landing area, his grip may be considered optimum for
him, but if he does not reach the vertical or may take a higher grip and
pass through, then he has selected his grip wrongly."

a 12 foot take-off is approximately a 14-7 grip and a 16 foot vault…

my approach run chart gives you a quick reference for this "test"…

for example if Bubka's "pop-up" grip was 14-4/4.37 his takeoff calculated at approx.. 4.37 or a 5.09/16-8 grip and a 19-6 jump…

those are the exact numbers for one of his 19-6/19-8 jumps from Peter McGinnis' data..
