POLE RUNS, POLE RUNS, POLE RUNS and then do SOME MORE POLE RUNS.......focus on your posture and carriage, THEN add the plant in to the end of the pole run again focusing on posture and timeing.

ok, YOU DONT want your ams LOCKED!!! you want a high plant, and your arms in the right place, but dun tlock out! I had a bad hs coach teach me to lock out my arms, mostly my bottom arm, and well, when i swing it still doesnt un-lock, and it blocks out your swing completely.. and its a hard habbit to break, iv been working on it for 6 months now and i still havnt fixed it, and really im not sure how to :( . Now if you want to work on getting your arms EXTENDED at takeoff, then id recommend doing tons of slide box and pole runs.
What have you done today to get better?

All these people who post wanting help are driving me nuts! the two most important parts of the vault are the run and plant. They always mention that they either have their run down or their plant down, no body ever has those two down completely unless they are jumping 5.90 or higher and they dont have it down perfectely! "last time I checked my run and plant were fine". Ahhhh

haha i agree. i think becca should make a forum category titled "noobs" in which anyone needing help can put their posts...there seems to be many lately, perhaps requiring a separate forum category...lol :P

Try the narrow vault drill. You can't block when your hands are close. Inch them out and if you start to block, start back narrow again.

well im just fine doign short run and drill stuff, its the longer runs and bigger hand grips that start the problems.. would making my grip narrower be able to work with a full run? when i try not to block out it feels like im not gonna get up if i let my bottom arm come in.
