I have about 70 or 80 poles. Some I own, some I borrow from local colleges I volunteer coach at, some I borrow from other club coaches, others were donated from kids who outgrew them. Scrape, scrounge, beg, do whatever you gotta do to get as many poles as you can so you can be better fit to what you need. I try to have at least 3-5 poles available for every vaulter for every meet.

consist of 2 carbon ESSX, two pacer, 1 pacer CARBON. at beginning of year i would vault on the softest from 7 left, then it was my money pole. now, from the stiffest of 5, i can pretty much use from 5 left (gettin faster w/ much better plant)

Well, I intro'd a 5'7" 120 lb freshman (thin build but athletic) to PV this time two seasons ago. His first meet went 10'0". We are now starting yr three. We went thru 4 poles yr 1. from a 12-120 to a 13 130. Ended at 11-6. Year 2 went thru 4 poles from 13-155 to 14-155. Year ended 13-6. at 128lbs 5' 8". This year, 5'9" 1302 lbs (and its real early) we have 4 new poles without any carbons hopefully we'll need at years end. Without counting the start pole from last year, the 14-155, we have been on our next two poles 14'6" 150 and 14'6"155 from a seven step, result 13'10" meet, 14'9" practice.. Still in the wings and due to be jumpimg on by leaque outdoor season on 1 Apiril from an 8 step is a 15' 150 and a 15 155. That'll take us to 15'6" surely.

So thats, 12 poles. All new Pacer Fx in less than 3 seasons. on only 500.00 per year budget (that means I bought some too!)

gottta be able to transistion up poles as you improve and to do so ya gotta have the poles WHEN you need them..not wait 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Need poles to build a good HS program.

The above is for a guy weighing 120-140 ish. get a big good guy and its a whole duplicate series of 12 poles just stiffer! Ouch.

good luck. run fast Hold High
