High School grade records

Is there a place to look up the records for Freshmen, Sophomore, Juniors and Seniors?
The record tab at the top of the page seems a little outdated. It lists the source as a book published in 2007.

Probably the best source of data for High School track and field is milesplit.com (it is a subscription service). The next best source (and free) is dyestat.com. Athletic.net is another free service but basically worthless.

Any of you have the 'age group national records'? Hoping for a link to them as well.

Also- any link to confirm the marks listed above. There are a lot of different lists claiming "confirmed" marks so I have no idea what is legit!

Hi bjvando. This is a difficult one since no one really ratifies national high school grade records or age records. AAU and USATF each keep records for their own sanctioned competitions but these are (with the exception of AAU age 13 and 14) in two-year age increments and without grade references. To further complicate things, both AAU and USATF go by birth year (not the athlete’s age at the time of the competition). Each state keeps their own high school records but the ratification process is state specific (for example, in Texas a recorded record can only be set at the state championship meet).

NFHS keeps some results but I’m not really sure where they pull from or their record criteria. If they only pull from their membership state records, then you might have the same problem you would if you were looking for records in Texas - plus they would not include any AAU and USATF sanctioned meets.

Jack Shepard (the high school editor of Track and Field news) maintains a list of yearly performances and high school records. Not sure if he maintains grade records but you can contact him via Track and Field News website.
Finally, here is a link from last year’s New Balance National program that supports most of the marks in the list above. Hope this helps.
