lol...you're the exact opposite of my family...all our cars are domestic. we have a 92 ford taurus thats rounding out 200k and still going strong. AC doesn't work, and neither does the passenger window button, but it runs great. had a problem with a 2001 taurus though...everytime the car was turned on, an awful gas smell would filter thru the vents, and sometimes while driving too. it was something with the o-rings i think, they were getting saturated with gas or something...we eventually were basically given a new car (an 02 this time, they had changed something about the engine design...the 01 we bought wasn't the only one we experienced the odor in, we had a few 01 rentals while they were trying to fix ours, and smelled it in a few of them too)...they were never able to fix it.
