Skipper didn't warmup at all. Got stood up on his first and cleared easily on his second. On his clearance he took off at 15'.

Eshbach looked really good. All 3 of his vaults were in the mid-18' range.

Hard to gauge Scott. I've never seen him jump before, but if he can line up he'll be the one to beat. 5.30 was only about 1 foot over his grip so he flagged out to clear easily.

Takahashi cleared a 5.20 bungee with 18" to spare 4 times in a row, but with a bar, he wasn't nearly as aggressive. Hopefully he was being careful to just qualify.

Mark Johnson is about 5'8" and took off at 14'6" consistently...which is probably 1-1 1/2 feet out for his grip. If it wasn't for the fact that he actually turn up on his vaults, you could nickname him "Vadim".

Stephens is a stud. Blew threw every pole he jumped on. Finally got on the right size pole for his final attempt and was over 5.15 by 2 feet but barely clipped it on the backside.

Mondschein has some ability, but turned mental at 5.30. Cleared 5.15 by a foot pretty much stiff pole-ing.

Ray Scotten is fast and has a free takeoff...not like Johnson, which was frightening, but a very nice free takeoff. Fast as hell.

actually skipper did warm up. i watched him take about 3 or 4 vaults from 4 lefts. and then about 3 from his full run. But he finished super early and then sat down with like an hour left in warm ups.

i myself... sucked.

i myself... sucked.. i just got a little two amped and was taking off about 1 foot and changeinside my normal mark. its a problem i consistently struggle with at meets. Thats why the straight pole appearance. In practice i get more bend, still not like 120 degree bends or anything. I just need to find a way to relax in meets and keep my step out. Any suggestions. time to start working for next year. got 2 more years of eligibility so ill be back.

oh and skipper definitely warmed up. did some 4 left vaults, and then a couple full run. he just finished super early thats all.

You definitely can jump much higher than your PR. I thought for sure you'd get 5.30 easily.

I got there an hour early and still missed Skipper warming up. That's warming up early!

thanx. that is really nice to hear. This whole year for me has just been growing year mentally. getting over some of my head cases i developed in past years, and getting past a lot of my fears. I was on the verge of breakouts for about the last 6 weeks. I was just hoping it would come now. So i am excited for the future, but still a little ticked for now. fuel for the soul.

AWESOME!! Just saw a girl on my team that just won the Hep. This girl is extremely talented and is still just a true FRESHMAN!! Congrats Jackie.
Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. - Muhammad Ali
