Long test

Unread postby jmayesvaultmom » Mon Mar 29, 2004 12:39 pm

Then it needs to be found out how long back whatever is in the ADD/ADHD medicines will show up so that these athlethes know when to stop taking their prescribed medicines prior to competition where they will most likely be tested. Then that info should be put into entry information for those meets where they will be tested.
That's Jodie!!

I agree 100%. Good luck getting them to give you that kind of information.

As much as it is needed, if you look at the flip side and USADA tells you that meds/drugs/whatever will be out of your system within X number of days, then someone will try to use that to gain an advantage some how. So I don't see them being definative on it.

Test

Isn't that covered under Freedom of Information Act? Or wouldn't a physician know? Or a lab?

I would imagine it varies a lot by the size of the athlete, the amount taken, the individual's metabolism, etc.

IAAF won't consider reinstatement case till Aug 15th.

Unread postby Carolina Extreme » Mon Apr 12, 2004 11:17 am

You guys have been so supportive. I just wanted to let you know what went down at the IAAF meeting. As you know USADA  had requested early reinstatement for Chase in time for this years USA Juniors. The USOC  even got involved to get USATF  to expedite things. As long as he was reinstated within one year he would have been eligible for this years USA Juniors since it falls a year and couple days past last years meet, when he was tested. The following is from the email from Chase's attorney:

"Rusty, Sorry I don’t have good news. I received a letter from the IAAF indicating that they will not look at his case until their August 15, 2004 meeting. They have started taking a hard line and will not even consider reinstatement until the Athlete has been out for at least 1 year. We tried pushing the envelope to have them decide now but not have the suspension expire until the 1 year anniversary, but they wouldn’t go for it. The THG and USATF issues appear to have clouded their vision with respect to innocent violations."

So Chase will continue to do what he has been doing, working on his school and training. He has been working hard and things have been going well for him in CA. He is due for a big meet, maybe he'll take his frustrations out on the runway at Mt. Sac this week.

I'm praying for some closure in August, so we can get this off of his back and set him free to jump in any meet he chooses.

Thanks again for all of your support and kind words, and to USADA, USOC and especially our attorney for working swiftly to try to resolve this.

Rusty, I haven't talked to you in quite some time, yet have kept up with Chase through Meme,Papa and Mom (Pat )( this is Steve). I really don't understand all of the rules but feel there has been a horrible injustice done to Chase. Don't really know if there is anything I could do to help (and I'm sure there isn't) just wanted to let you guys know that my family is behind you and will continue to follow and hope for the best.

Steve
