It may be a little too early but, make your predictions for the Olympics. Top three in the men's and women's pole vault

I believe that it will be a fight for Feofanova, Isinbayeva, Dragila, and Pyrek for the womens side. It will be them or who ever makes 4.80m will take the gold.

For the guys: 5.90m will split the top three and it will come down to Brits, Lobinger, Markov, and possibly Stevenson or Mack.

men:
1)Stevenson(595 thats right, olympic record!): was in control of the whole pole vault season until mack brought out some pr's and great performances. could be either one of those guys up here(or miles for that matter) but im giving it to toby because he will be sure to attract the tv camera's attention.

2) Markov(590): he remembers his world championship performance from '01 and he will come close to winning a global championship again

3) Mack(590): just jumping way too well right now and the trend will continue. thats 4 american medalists in the last 2 olympics!!!

4)Kristianson(580): having a great year and does well here, just comes up short.

5) miles(580) another consistant performance and 5 men over 580 man, the weather must have been real nice.

women:

1)yelena 485.

2) stacy 480

3 svetlana 480

after a miss at 485 by stacy with yelena making on her first stacy passes to 490. she almost makes it on her final attempt, the bar bounces once slightly then barely rolls off. with the long pegs it would have been a make. yelena then attempts a new world record but misses. i guess 5 meters will just have to wait.

I don't know what to say. I just watched Isinbayeva make 4.90m with ease on a video my roommate shot at the meet in England. I also watched Feofanova make 4.80m pretty easy. Stacey looked as though she was struggling with an injury perhaps. I really want to see Stacey win and break the OR and WR, but its gonna be a challenge. I'm betting on experience for this Olympics. Go Stacey!

US men dare I say sweeping the medals...
