Jillian: From the Opening Ceremonies
It all began at 5:00 p.m. when all of the athletes gathered in the courtyard outside our room. It was probably about ninety degrees and we were all getting hot and sweaty, and then we found out that we wouldn’t even load the buses until 6:30. Then one of the runners got a brilliant idea. A group of us were standing outside of the medical building and he started heading downstairs saying, “I’m going to go dunk my head in an ice bath!â€Â

BLOGS AKA Weblogs

Unread postby Bruce Caldwell » Sat Aug 21, 2004 7:55 am

Weblogs,
typically, are personal Web sites operated by individuals who compile chronological lists of links to stuff that interests them, interspersed with information, editorializing and personal asides. A good weblog is updated often, in a kind of real-time improvisation, with pointers to interesting events, pages, stories and happenings elsewhere on the Web. New stuff piles on top of

We are all tired of whos whos in the banned drug scene

Unread postby Bruce Caldwell » Sat Aug 21, 2004 8:36 am

The IOC's rationale for the restrictions is that athletes and their coaches should not serve as journalists -- and that the interests of broadcast rightsholders and accredited media come first.

This is interesting
What if the media is not taking advantage of the personal insight we all are hungry for?
Blogs are popular because the readers want more info, personal logs and events.
I think we are all tired of whos whos in the banned drug scene!

Lets talk about people, equipment, training, coaches and preparation for the finals.

That is the information I want to know!!!
Besides the Olympics are for the athletes; not for selling rights to their thoughts and experiences to the media?

its all about money with the IOC. They don't want you reading anything that doesn't come from a news organization that paid them $$$ to be able to cover the games. They are doing the same for their sponsors as well. They're not allowing you to wear, eat, carry anything into a venue that isn't an official sponsor's product. greedy *******....

the IOC has larger issues to be ashamed of, not recognizing Chinese Taipei as Taiwan and not even letting them use their own flag.
