I'm betting that since 3 americans made the final NBC will be more than happy to provide with some decent coverage. For the women they didn't even show the bronze medal jump!

Primetime coverage starts at 8pm EST so they'll probably do the usual - a few vaults, tons of ads, lotsa filler, a few vaults ... rinse lather repeat. Be prepared to stay up late to see the last few jumps. They showed the women at 11:48pm EST last night...

Man I wish we got CBC or Eurosport...

At around 9:30 CST they showed Miles...not much clearance maybe 4 inches. Lobinger sporting Bo Derek cornrows clears by about 4 inches which is a huge clearance for him since he rarely puts more than an inch on any bar. Gibilisco flagged out and cleared by what appeared to be a lot (bad camera angle) though he did brush slightly because he threw his legs down on it.

It's actually going to be a wide open final. Stevenson would be a slight favorite at this point, but if they handed out medals for that, we wouldn't have the past 3 OG champs. This is probably the first OG final ever where everybody is capable of medalling.

its too bad that there must be 3 americans that have to get in in order for nbc to possibly cover pv better. wether or not americans get in, pv should have like 15-20 minutes at least (or more).

And if Karpov can learns to throw javelin and pole vault he will be up there aswell! I can beat him in those two events quite easily for crying out loud.

I can't believe SI favored Markov to win. He hasn't vaulted higher than 5.86 since 2001!

Weelll he only won the 2001 WCs with and even though he hasn't jumped higher than 5.86 since then he still medaled at last year's WCs so I wouldn't call it a bad pick. Hes shown an ability to perform at championship meets but obviously couldn't do it in Athens. How many people picked Gibilisco last year?

Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. - Muhammad Ali
