It is just entertainment folks

Most of it all that is said is entertainment and media talk he has hung with some of the best vaulters in the world and has picked up a few phrases.
It is just entertainment folks.
I am impressed with pronounciations of foriegn names and statitics

Mr. Dwight Stones
Mr. Stones is a ten-time World record holder in the High Jump event, and a three-time Olympian with two bronze medals. In 1976, Sports Illustrated's premier writer, Frank Deford, dubbed him, "The Mouth That Soars," because he both flew over the high bar in competition and spoke articulately about a variety of issues. Mr. Dwight Stones has continued his outspoken nature with a career in television broadcasting, sharing his expertise in the World of athletic competition, while expanding into the arena of business. Mr. Dwight Stones was the sports commentator for the 1996, 2000, & 2004 Olympic Games Atlanta and is scheduled for future Olympic Games.

I read that in an article as well. The pole vault finished very late at night in Greece. I don't know when or if they are going to show the medal ceremony on TV.

I don't know. I enjoyed the cheesy intro. The part about Bubka's world record being like running down the street and vaulting into a second story window made me laugh out loud. The image that it created in my mind was hilarious.

Just picture Bubka walking down the street. Then suddenly, umprompted, he pulls a pole out of nowhere and runs down the street, plants, and crashes through a second story window.

Interesting mental image, huh?

That is the first time that I have seen Tim Mack break down. From someone like Mack, you wouldn't expect him to get teary eyed like that. I almosted cried for him!
You Deserve it Tim!

Way to go!

He almost sobbed through the national anthem.....he had to keep taking deep breaths and at the end it even looked like he tried biting his tongue to keep from breaking down crying. Made me cry.... :crying:
