i know i know. just for laughs. Theres also internal energies to consider. the speed of your swing. weight of your leg. momentums, strength. all variables that are not accounted for with simple physics. im just an engineering dork with my conservation of energy

velocities from 10-5m in this meet:
... Adam Keul: 8.57m/s (5.44 2nd miss)
... Stacy Dragila: 8.57m/s (4.82 1st miss)

yes it is. physics says that if they have the same velocity at take off they should be able to clear the same height.

All things being equal, yes. Adam's a big guy though, and probably gripping 2+ feet higher than Stacy, and has a higher center of gravity, thus a shorter distance to go to get to the bar, so he has advantages. Remember also, that that was his slowest approach in that one meet, and he's jumped near 5.70, while that was Stacy's fastest approach and she's a 4.80 jumper. Stacy is much faster than all the other Elite U.S. women though.

No she's not. I have seen Peter and Daves numbers on the womens velocities, and Stacy was not way faster than the other US women this year, in fact she wasn't the fastest if I remember correctly. I will try and post the numbers in the next few days.

Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, this is one meet from 2 years ago, not a measure of a career. Perhaps by saying she's much faster than the other U.S. elites as a generality is incorrect, but here were the max velocities taken from 2002 Nationals:

Stacy: 8.57
Mel Mueller: 8.33
Mary Sauer: 8.28
Lacy Janson: 8.22
Amy Linnen: 8.11
Andrea Dutoit: 8.05
Niki Reed: 8.05
Becky Holliday: 8.00
Jill Schwartz: 8.00

Everyone else was under 8.00 m/s.

So, in this meet, Stacy was still over 2/10's faster than her nearest competitor. As for this year though, I don't have those numbers and can't attest to how their velocities have changed.
