Qualifying in Two Events??

what if you qualified in two events but only competed in one, if you gave notice, would the ncaa expand the field and invite the next one on the list?? like last year i know donovan k. jumped 5.40 and that would have made it, he also set the ncaa record in the hept. so if he did that again, and he didn't do the open vault, then would they allow one more person to compete in the vault? or would that just suck for the 25th guy on the list?

i would imagine if the committee knew in advanced whether that person would be doing the event or not to invite the next qualifier, but i know when the meet comes and some people dont show up they are pretty much lost spaces
