Brian,

Good to hear from you! The South Carolina vaulters will be there. Chase, Spencer and Chris still need to confirm, but they will probably be there as well. I guess the trio should get there entries in soon to guarantee some airtime. Chase and you have some settling up to do. LOL

Chase, Chris and Spencer all looked strong at the Clemson meet. Chase attempted 17' 10.5" after winning but he was just out of gas. To many jumps at earlier heights. But you know Chase, when the bar goes up he gets the job done. The trio's heights didn't reflect how they were jumping, especially Spencer who NH'd. Since he had no pit for practice in college he only practiced about 5 or 6 times a yr since 2000, and still managed 17' 9.75". So far this fall he has already logged more practice airtime than he did the past 2 to 3 yrs combined. He's looking really good. Chris picked up where he left off, from day one this fall, and is jumping great. At Clemson his pole got caught on the front lip of the box on an early height. He took a pretty good hit on it and was rattled for a little bit but came back strong. He's going to have a good year.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, Chase passed up a shot just over the meet record and went instead for a height about 6" higher because he knew he didn't have much left in his legs and he wanted to out jump Spencer's PR. I love that attitude. That's why these guys are going to be such great training partners. Chase (17'7" PR) will out jump Spencer (17' 9.75" PR), then Spencer will outjump Chris (18'0.5" PR), then Chris will say I don't think so and outjump them both. None of them want to be low man on the totem pole. I hope they leapfrog each other all year. LOL It's going to be a fun!

Looking forward to seeing you Jan 15th. I hope all is well. How's your dad? You can PM me if you like.

training is going well. i am stronger and faster than i have ever been. Technique wise im a little stuck again. I need to raise my grip but my step in soooo far under. As soon as i get my step back out big things will happen. I have jumped about 5.15 in practice so far from my short run. We are gonna start pushing back to a full competition run next week. Im very excited for what this year will bring. I think i will finally break out a bit.
