I saw that too..it was pretty crazy. I am assuming it was Jeremy Scott. I think he is the only one who would have been wearing black.

It was Jeremy who broke the pole. We were there for the New Balance Collegiate meet at the Armory, and had a number of sprinters in the finals which were moved to Millrose. It was an incredible atmosphere, much like a streetvault but with maybe 15,000+/- people. Loud music, announcer, spot lights, it was a great event.

Jeremy hit his takeoff great and got tremendous leverage on the pole. Of course at 6' 9" thats a ton of leverage. I spoke to him, back at the Armory on Saturday, and he said it felt really good right up to the point it broke. It stung his hand pretty good, but it seemed to be OK. Bummer he broke it, he was vaulting well.

Jeff nearly had his legs cut out from under him by a shot put. It went wide and landing a couple feet behind him on the runway. Thank goodness it didn't hit him. That would have left a mark for sure and cut his season short. :crying:

 Mary Saxer handled it well. I think the speed of the runway caught her by surprise and she was getting caught under. She definitely has the tools to be a great vaulter. She and her coach have done a tremendous job of getting her to where she is. Hopefully she will go to a college where she can take her vaulting to the heights she is capable of, continuing to build on what she is doing.

Did anyone else plan to watch the Saturday afternoon broadcast of the Milrose Games on NBC only to find that your local affiliate decided to show something else!! I was getting my DVD recorder set to record the meet when I checked the local TV listings and discovered that the Syracuse station was showing the movie SPEED 2 instead! What a bummer! :(
