14 year old Travis Timm jumped his age (14 feet) from 5 lefts in his 1st High School meet today in Murphy Texas. Then ran out of poles.

Wow, and I thought my 9'6" was pretty good when I was in 8th grade. That was 39 years ago though and on a red Gill aluminum pole. It just amazes me how high all of you kids are going now-a-days. Later...............Mike

8th or 9th grade, it is still very impressive! You can count the number of people who jump their age in the world each year on one hand. The challenge now is to continue it each year. :dazed: :D

Way to go Travis. My PR was only 12'7" and I did that when I was a senior. As a freshman you're already nearly a foot and a half above That. Like I said, WOW! Keep workin' at this and don't let yourself think that you are more than you are. (gettin' a big head). Obviously you are very good at this. Continue the hard work and training. Your physical conditioning is more important now and for the next few years to come than after you've completely finished growing.Even though, like most young people your age, you're made out of rubber and can spring back from injuries pretty quick. Each time you weaken an area through injury it comes back to haunt you later in life. Just be aware of everything you and your body are doing. Sorry about doing the Dad/coach thing here but I just couldn't help it. 15' by the end of the season.......right? Later...........Mike

Just curious, but has any girl ever come close to vaulting her age? I know that she would have to be pretty young...if not, is there a girl equivalent of vaulting your age?

I'm sure there has been a 12 yr old that has jumped 12 or something to that extent...but I guess once you get passed 13 or 14 it gets kinda hard.
