Is this a custom design? Can you share with us what it is? Maybe a photo or better yet a video?
Thanks,

You can see the "toy" I designed 20 years ago in http://advantageathletics.com/2005/?page_id=72 under "B. The Pole Vault Power Rockback Rack" and read about what it does. Now, you can even leave a comment about the page under the article.

If you are in or around the Sacramento area, stop by Bella Vista HS. We have a new toy that teaches athletes how to load a pole and swing up in the correct position with a long trail leg. Had a visiting female vaulter yesterday that tucked her legs and collapsed her lower arm all season. Ten minutes on the new toy and she was able to translate what she learned into almost perfect technique on a real vault

The vaulters at Bella Vista must be doing something right. They have been dominating the pole vault at the state meet for the past 2 years. Two years ago a freshman won the state meet at 16'. See: http://advantageathletics.com/2005/?page_id=80

Last year his teammate another sophomore was first and Ryan, a sophomore, was 3rd.

Re: Long trail leg
I have had quite a bit of success telling my jumpers to feel their hamstring stretching on their trail leg as they sweep their leg all the way to their hands. If they don't feel the hamstring stretching, the train leg could probably be straighter Start them low and short (three strides). You can even do it on a stiff pole. Hope this helps.
