LIVE NCAA Men's Prelims Updates

Unread postby rainbowgirl28 » Wed Jun 08, 2005 8:52 pm

As long as the rain does not start back up, I will try and keep you all updated with what is happening at NCAAs.

They are about to start. Opening height is 5.00 meters. It's kinda chilly but the rain has eased up.

Many of the coaches are guessing it will take 5.15 on a first or second attempt to advance to finals.

Pratt is passing the opening height.

It started sprinkling as soon as they started jumping, and kept picking up the whole time. Anyone who managed to clear on a 3rd attempt was pretty impressive!

They have it rain delayed now. The pits are covered up and all. They made that decision after everyone finished their attempts at 5.00

The rain died down and they squeegied off the runways. They opened the pits for run throughs and it looked like most guys got 2 in if they wanted them.

No more bars were attempted. Everyone who made 5.15 made finals.

I am very cold and wet :(

Pole Vault Question

Unread postby Coachk84 » Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:38 am

Becca - Thanks for the updates. It was certainly chilly tonight, but the finals should be warm and some great jumping. Can you tell me which vaulter broke the pole ........was it a Nebraska vaulter?

Great job, and we look forward to tommorrows pole vault when the ladies take to the runway for their prelims.

I didn't see a pole break. Was it in warmups? I left for a little while to grab my laptop from my car.
