Day 3 opens under a few clouds
Clouds are literal and metaphorical. Yesterday's scratches of Marion and Tim Jones and DQ/reinstatement of Olympic sprint champ Justin Gatlin threw a curveball at the nationals, but couldn't steal all the thunder, what with 12.99, 13.01, 13.02 in the high hurdles -- incredible times in sub-70 degree conditions. Wispy clouds dot skies over the Home Depot Center in Carson, south of Los Angeles. Temp at 10:52 a.m. about 76 degrees, Beautiful. And women's vaulters are being introduced.
