Unread postby Carolina Extreme » Thu Sep 29, 2005 1:43 pm

Hello everyone! I hope your fall is going as great as ours.

We will be having a two day/all day pole vault camp October 15 & 16 at the University of South Carolina. Two pits, video analysis, rings, rope, high bar, trampoline, etc. And 150+ poles for easy progressions.

Go to www.CarolinaExtreme.com for complete entry information.

We hope some of you can make it. It's going to a lot of fun. :D

Several thoughts on a very good question:

1) Our hearts go out to everyone who has gotten caught up in the two hurricanes and the aftermath. It has and will continue to take a huge toll financially, as well as mentally for years to come.

2) NCAA rules require that we charge everyone the same with no discounts. So there can be no exceptions for risk of NCAA violations and sanctions, plus I could get fired. I wish it weren't that way, but it is.

3) If someone has been displaced by the hurricanes and in need, their number priority has to be with their family. If a camp, not just ours, is something that will take your mind off of things for a while and provide a mental escape, perhaps you, or we, can find a sponser for camp fees and travel expenses.

4) If there are any vault enthusiasts reading this that would like to help an athlete affected by either hurricane please send me an email or PM. You can remain anonymous if you like and can be "on call" so to speak in case you are needed. The athletes can get to a camp whether here or closer to them geographically. There are many great camps around the country.

5) Also, if you are a vaulter displaced by the hurricanes and need help getting to a camp and paying for the camp please email or PM me and maybe we can round up a sponser for you.
